NAMF’s annual Speech Competition began in 2002 and provides a platform for youth across Ontario to express their opinions in a constructive, academic setting. This program was established to encourage our youth to express their ideas and prepare them for their roles as the leaders of tomorrow. The competition aims to encourage critical thinking and interest in contemporary issues in Muslim youth, allowing them to hone their speaking skills and explore new perspectives, attitudes and ideas. Students between grades 6 and 12 from schools throughout Ontario compete and develop their communication and reasoning skills in an atmosphere where all voices are heard. Students compete within a highly competitive and disciplined setting. All competition judges are carefully selected from individuals within mainstream academia. Representatives of government(M.P., M.P.P. Ministers) are invited and attend as chief guests of our event. At the competition’s end, a panel of judges award prizes to the competition’s top speakers.
